I couldn't help but to wonder why they have been exiled, so I scraped together some change and purchase a copy of the Unlimited Times. On front page it displayed:

Inventors of Chaos Orb Exiled
A group of scientists have been exiled from the planet do to experimentation with man-made Black Holes. They were caught and charged an extreme fine, but they refused to pay. The ISC (International Science Committee) has decided that being exiled would be the only way to protect the planet from their dangerous experiments.
The Concentrated Plasma Dome or Chaos Orb, as some call it, has trillions of Plasma Particles concentrated into a sphere about 2 inches in diameter. If the smallest crack was ever to appear in the Chaos Orb, it would instantaneously create a matter consuming Black Hole.
The scientists that were exiled exclaimed, "It is for the good of mankind. If the Concentrated Plasma Domes where to be released at the same time, it could created a Worm Hole for instant inter-dimensional travel!" But the ISC thinks this is too much of a risk to take.

This didn't seem like interesting news at the time so I discarded the paper in the nearest trash bin and carried on to the General Store. Upon reaching the store I noticed everyone talking about the Chaos Orb, even the kids were arguing over its potential. I went ahead about my buisness and walked into the store and purchased a 12 pack of Pepsi and a pack of cigarettes. I handed the cashier the money and proceeded to walk out the door when my friend Lance come screaming down the street in his Corvette. He came to almost a dead stop about 2 feet in front of me.
"Brent! Did you hear the news?!" said Lance nervously. "Those scientists that created the Chaos Orb have threatened to break it if anyone tries to stop them!" Fear overwhelmed me at that instant as he continued on to say, "Thats not the best of it either! The damn FBI are attempting to take them down!" "But that means..." I said. We both bowed are heads and thought of what was going to happen.
I opened the pack of cigarettes and offered Lance one. We both began smoking nervously in hopes that it would calm us down. We sat down on the hood of the car and watched the people argue. We didn't say a word to each other during the whole hour we sat there.
After about an hour of sitting there, staring at the sky Lance offered me a ride home. We got into the car and began heading down Lasko Avenue when it happened. The sky went black and a bright flash followed not soon afterwards. We literally watched everything disintegrating before us. My very life passed before my eyes as Lance pulled to a dead stop on the side of the road. Then everything went black...
I regained conscious in a small house made of wood. This was a rare sight, wood was something I hardly ever seen in New York. I got up and began to explore my surroundings when an old man walked in the room and asked if I was okay.
"I'm okay, but exactly where am I?" I asked. He answered, "Mako Village, we found you and another young man unconscious just outside of town." I thought to myself for a minute then asked, "Where is the other guy that you found?" He answered, "Outside talking about his Car', whatever that is".
I walked outside and sure enough, he was bragging about his Corvette. The people he was bragging to looked as if they had no clue what he was saying though. I approached him and asked, "What just happened here?" He replied, "I don't know, somehow we survived the opening of the Chaos Orb." Just then, everyones eyes lightened up. The old man approached and said, "Chaos Orb?! What do you know about the Chaos Orb?" We both replied, "Nothing really, some freaky scientists made the Chaos Orb and released it, then we woke up here." The old man began pacing back and forth...
